BEACHES
Tortola is around 20 miles long and 2 miles wide. White-sand beaches and over 40 miles of crystal clear water surround it - and with over 20 islands to explore by boat that lie within 8 miles of the coast, the possibilities are endless! Here is a list of some of the local beaches...
• Smuggler's Cove: An unspoilt beach with good snorkelling - walking distance from Gun Point.

• Long Bay: A white sandy bay in front of the Long Bay Hotel - a short drive from the house.

• Apple Bay: A big surfing beach - a little further than Long Bay. Monthly full moon parties and weekly live music are held at the beach's 'Bomba Shack'.

• Cane Garden Bay: A busy beach with bars, restaurants and water sport equipment for hire.

• Brewer's Bay: A quiet beach with a couple of small beach bars.

• Josiah's Bay: A good sunbathing and surf beach - good for boat trips to visit little cays and bays.
